A Little Excitement Tonight

I'm going to show my nerdyness here, and I'm going to apologize for it pre-emptive... but there is a difference between poisonous and venomous, and very few snakes are poisonous when you eat them. Sorry!
You are correct. I usually just let it go😎

Fine. You’re free access to the Habitat Talk chat room is revoked for one week! Think about what you’ve done.
Easy now! That's crazy talk right there.

D A M N ! I'm not afraid of snakes at all but definitely do not want to step on a poisonous one. Serious pucker factor! Like others said I usually don't kill the timber rattlers unless they are in my yard { saw one yesterday } But all rules off if I step on one! Beautiful snake!

A short rattler story here. Buddy and I were hunting rattlers some years ago here. Mountainous, rocky area, with a few old, abandoned, collapsed farm buildings. Buddy walks ON a weathered plank & steps off it, takes a couple more steps. I used a hoe to turn the plank over - big black timber rattler coiled under the plank he just stepped on. It did not rattle. I told him to turn around & look at what was under the plank. His eyes got as big as saucers, and the color went out of his face. Needless to say, we both were on red alert the rest of the day! They don't always rattle as a warning.
