A DIY in truck meat cooler

A chest freezer and a portable generator. You can rent a portable generator but you would have to check the wattage and make sure it could handle the freezer. The little 2000-3000 watt generators arn't too loud.
You don't even need a generator. An inverter and the trucks electrical can run a chest freezer no problem. I believe most chest freezers will fit under a truck shell. The little one I was looking at last week draws 90 watts running.

My plan is to haul up a freezer this year.

I have access to a small chest freezer that I think will get it done. I'll pack a couple 150 qt igloo's along for the rest.

I can stuff my back seat full as well. I'll be driving solo.

Long Bed, 4 door pickup. I don't think the custom cooler is the right move here.

Had did you do with the setup?

Didn't go out several times because it was too warm. Farmland was harvested early this year too, so late season was tough.

maybe i can get a chest unit under the topper. Not a tarp, a fiberglass old man truck cover is what I'll have.
A small chest freezer will fit under most toppers. I had one in my old step side F150 with a standard topper. Check the measurements first, of course. These use only 300-600 watts, and can be powered with a SIN power inverter if you want to try that. No ice is nice. There are lots of threads on Facebook forums of guys who do this every years for elk
