My buddy and I have been going on a trout trip every year for 32 years now. This year we went to Cherokee NC and I talked my younger son Logan into joining us. We had a great time!
Tuesday 3/30 - we caught around 45 with Logan having the big fish at 3.5-4# and I had a brook that went around 2
Wednesday 3/31 - rain all day, rivers/creeks were higher and dirty but we ventured out to a new creek for us and managed 7 each in a few hours
Thursday 4/1 - was better with us catching around 35-40 each
Friday 4/2 - was better yet with us easily catching over 100 plus a few big fish
Saturday 4/3 - we braved Helen GA for the tournament. It was busy, but better than the last time since they spread it out over more of the river. I fished two areas and landed around 10 fish, lost a good one, caught a 5# 13oz bow, then lost another good one. I was tied for 3rd, around 1:00, but a few more came in and knocked me out of the top 3. Ended up with a check for $50 and a t-shirt.
