I did some more research and looking. I think I'm going to frost seed some red clover over the plot in March/April and then when the winter rye is 12-16" tall, mow it and let the clover grow as my summer crop. I can terminate it and plant the fall crop in Aug/Sept. That will only mean tiling...

I have an atv with a disc, harrow drag and 600# cultipacker. I also have a sprayer for the atv. I forgot to mention, I did put winter rye down as well so that will pop up right away. I was just thinking the clover/radish would be a good summer crop to help build the soil a bit.

Took one side of a big 10 point rack and connected it to a trapping earth anchor. Drove the anchor in the middle of my buddies ATV trail where it was very easy to see and covered up where the cable attached to the shed. He was fired up until he went to pull and it was connected to the ground!!

Great, I'm hoping to do 2 passes with the ATV disc around the plot. 8-10'. One last question. What is the narrowest distance from side to side on your plot? If I do 2 passes around, I will have a narrow spot that will be 15-18 yards wide.

I bought more fencing. My plan was to space them all out 15-18' and have a fence for each one. I will have 20 clusters of dogwood and 10 highbush cranberry in an area in the swamp. I really hope they take off. I plan on planting them in early May and babying them as much as possible. The...

Thanks for the info. I don't know if I have enough fencing for each plant to have a 3' diameter cage. I'm guessing putting 2 plants in a 3' cage would be tight and cause over crowding. I'll cage as many as possible and let the others go without cages and see what happens.

What diameter would you make your cages if you were going to keep them around the shrub for 2-3 years.
