That's insane.
That kind of stuff doesn't trip my trigger because you can get insanely good but there's still a lot of luck and mostly missing going on. Be pretty damn cool to hear a gong 14 seconds after the primer got dented though!

This has been a political issue I’ve followed pretty closely over the years. Kind of crazy that it’s the one thing I hear about a ton with all the seemingly other stuff in the bill.
Might have some small localized impacts but a whole lot of such "hunting" parcels only get some shooting lanes or atv trails cut at best. And 40,000 acres dispersed across what, 8ish million acres? Half of a percent of the area.
When I first read your post i was thinking of it as an entire area...
I'd take status quo and being able to roam and experience the vast northwoods 100% of the time over a sea of 40 acre parcels I cant touch. Not just deer hunters either. Lots of grouse and woodcock hunting/killing gets done up there. [Edit: I read your post wrong - 1000 40 acre parcels would be a...
I don't have an answer other than I hate to lose public land as the population grows. Status quo is good for me, better yet would be land swaps to make some of the inaccessible public lands accessible without net gain/loss. Unfortunately a lot of those land swaps typical end up with the public...

Dang on the winterkill.. What i read said that it was made to be more winter hardy than kanlow (which i didn't know was susceptible to winter kill either previously). They do advertise it's increased vigor which makes it sound more like big rock in first season emergence.
This is just a 1/2...
