    Favorite Eating Apple- Opal

Just had a Kiku from the grocery store this week and it was dang good! Similar to Fuji but sweeter and crisper Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are the glory days of deer hunting coming to a close?

This is a good book about African trackers with some life lessons mixed in. This and the meateater podcast got me more interested in African hunts when I never was before Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Milo to protect beans?

This seems like a great plot for summer and most of the fall, potentially into the winter if the deer take to the pumpkins. It’s also dual purpose cause the kids love hunting for pumpkins, squash in the garden so this would be like a jungle for them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Milo to protect beans?

How did you guys prep for this type of planting? Spray, till, or disc? Both? I have a corner of a hay field I would like to convert to something like this. Thinking I should get the grass killed good before planting? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Legacy nutrient deductions

I probably don't understand it well enough to knock it. But it seems like its rewarding poor behavior and things should be set up the other way around.

    Legacy nutrient deductions

Why don't they have a program that rewards improving the soil? Your organic matter increased from 2 - 4%, nice management, here's your check. Is this just giving farmers a discount on land without incentivizing/requiring good management practices?

    Beans vs alfalfa

There is some advantage to being able to overseed beans with winter rye or brassicas that can make a plot almost a full year food source and probably a better late season and winter food source. It’s added work to plant multiple times per year but that may be offset by the alfalfa maintenance...

    Last years grafts and rabbits

I didn’t notice any damage below on the rootstock but will have to check, probably was buried in snow. There’s a handful that have a bud still on the graft. Most don’t. I may graft some while they’re still dormant here. Leave the few that have a bud, and leave some chewed up ones go to see...

    Last years grafts and rabbits

I failed to protect my grafted apple trees well enough last fall and something snuck in the garden this winter and nibbled the tops. The pictures are hard to see, but show the damage. Mostly the rabbits ate the Scions and new growth on top from last summer I think the rootstock will be fine...

Stock Market is the bottom in?

I wish I was Trumps buddy, probably could have made 20% by shorting the market last week and buying in yesterday before these announcements

    Ag to Grasses

Could you plant native grasses around your apple trees or move the apples elsewhere? That area seems like a good spot for switch as a bedding/staggjng area out of the woods towards your field and is farther from the road Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Dividend Check

I was on board with cutting government spending and waste but using it to cut rich men's taxes is a huge load of BS. Screw all these guys, both D and R, no one really cares or is serious about making things better and you're a fool to think otherwise

    Dividend Check

I never knew until recently...1.9% of all workers in the US work for the federal government. That is insane. I'm all good with cutting workers, that's too big of government. I wish it would be done in a more organized manner, to keep a higher percentage of the good ones. I also wish the money...

If you could change one regulation in your state

I don't have any huge gripes here in Wisconsin. I've thought one buck per year no matter what weapon, gun, bow, etc. That might help some bucks make it another year. Also. I'd reduce the number of extra seasons, youth hunters can just use a cross bow instead of rifle if they want to go earlier...
