if you want to part it out let me know! I have the 48 rough country, shes ugly and beat up but it runs like a top but , just inn need of some backup parts!
it depends on how much thatch will be covering it. if its throw and mow with good thatch, I would plant it the day before the rain hits. I can show you some good pics that came from throw and mow followed by a week of rain.
so after the initial scare of a bad gly application, my summer plots of BW and sunflowers did amazing considering this is the first time these areas had been cultivated in 20 + years. We removed 30 trees and mowed down 8ft tall briars and weeds just to get started.
we sowed and mowed our...
this mineral lick only cost $46 bucks and will last Feb- September. In the last 30 days I had 3800 pics (1 shot, 60 sec delay) mostly does but I had two days when nice bachelor groups showed up
I've posted occasionally regarding the above mentioned grass and trees but I figured I'd I just share some of the results based off of what I had learned from the old Forum and from here!
Last spring I planted 25 Hybrid Poplars and 25 Hybrid Willows and I had about an 80% success rate. The...
there has definitely been some stubborn milkweed and pigweed but I think the BW is going to help suppress it. I'll probably do a light spraying when the BW browns up and just before I but down the fall seed. The BW is super expensive but its getting the job done!
an update on my T&M plots- so far so good- my buddy went to the farm and took two pics for me so didnt see them in person. Lots of BW but I'm not sure I see any sunflowers. He said there were lots of tracks though, so if they found them early they'll never have a chance!
so far so good and as far as the rain goes it's been a farmers wet dream. we sowed the seed on the 21st and it has rained every other day since with temps averaging above 60
Sprayed vs unsprayed! a few stragglers look like they made it but I might do another spray in august before the crops...
It was a good spray after all. The place was pretty well smoked with a just a few stragglers hanging on. We were able to drop 3000# of lime and all of our seed yesterday just before the rain! I was in a hurry and forgot to take pics but I'll get some soon.
Plots 1 and 2 we put down BW and Black...
Thanks for the input fellas! I went back out and what a difference in just a few days of warm temps. It looks to be a good application after all. it looks like there were a few tall stalks of pigweed hanging on but I think it will have been a success overall, especially considering this is the...
sorry for not being clear, but I used three oz of GLY w/surfactant per gallon in a 15 gallon sprayer and I refilled it with that ratio 5 times to cover 3 acres total. ( if anything it would be less than 3 acres, they are not nices squares, they are long, oblong stretches)
The sprayer has two...
