Hunting / recreation and timberland values in your location?

I just bought my slice 2 years ago at 54. Only regret is I didn’t do it sooner. I may have an opportunity to add adjacent acreage in the future. I would no doubt do it if I can. From what I’ve seen other properties very near me listed for in the past year I think I got a pretty good deal and...

    Pill For Ticks

I don’t seem to have a big tick problem where I’m at. Had a few on my clothes the first year/ first time out on the property. Started using permethrin on my clothes right after that and haven’t had a tick on me since. I’ll stick with the perm.

Conspiracy theorys, where do you stand?

    Rootstock

Sounds good, I’ll keep them damp and hold off a couple weeks. I agree, I think it will turn soon and can feel better about planting them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Time to lighten up - Laughter is good medicine Part II

Amen to that! I have a Reagan Bush ‘84 t-shirt I wear from time to time. Rarely fails to get a comment or a thumbs up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Rootstock

I orders some bare root crab apple trees that arrived today. I was a bit surprised to see them this early. I have never planted bare root apple trees before. Do I wasn’t to plant them this weekend already? Seems a bit cold yet for Wisconsin. Or do I wait? Will they be OK staying in the box for a...

    Tractor pics?

Initial run worked well. I had to try it out! Took out a small tree and a small stump no problem. Definitely, a technique to using it. Plan on digging a couple water holes with it next.

    Tractor pics?

My first tractor was delivered today. 2023 Bobcat CT2035 with loader and bucket, box blade, pallet forks, and stump bucket. Figured that would get me a good start this year. Hoping to add a grapple next year. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Stock Market is the bottom in?

What industry are you in? I feel there is so much divergence in the economy right now. We have had 3 record years in a row and planning on 20% growth this year and off to a good start. Just finished a conference and the difference in where companies were headed left we shaking my head.

Some of you have this confused with the politics thread. This was for memes and jokes I believe.

    Maple Syrup time

I’m going to try and sneak out and tap some trees on Thursday. Boil a batch this weekend. I have two trips coming up in the next 4 weeks, so I’m going to have to work around those….and the weather of course. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Post season habitat projects?

If the snow doesn’t get too deep I want to 1. Cut some trees down where food plots will be going in next spring. 2. Work on some trail access to a couple of stands. 3. Drop some ladder stands and work on making them more quiet (plastic washers). 4. Pick and mark water tank locations. 5. Add a...

    Setting up a new property

Sounds like we are in the same boat. I’ve waited two years before doing anything permanent and have learned a lot. The laundry list is now long and I’m ready to get a start. For me I’ve noticed a drop off in deer on the property once we get into October, so I’m looking at food plots for fall /...
