DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Grease Gun (DCGG571M1)

Both Milwaukee and DeWalt make good tools. Milwaukee power tools usually carry a 5-year warranty, while DeWalt has a 3-year warranty. If you go with Milwaukee, I suggest covering the serial number with a piece of clear tape to protect it. The manufacturing date code is part of the serial number...

    Any Turkey Hunters out there?

Jack, Thanks for devoting time to helping other hunters. I'm not sure how the ticks are in your area, but in Wisconsin they are unavoidable and pose a health risk to hunters. If it's the same by you, it might be worth including as a topic. Keith

    Best Hard Shell Blind?

Any suggestions for platform height? I have a similar situation, where I will be putting a hard shell blind along an edge of a field. The blind will blend in with the surrounding brush if I have it at, or near, ground level. I could also elevate to 8'-10' to help with scent control, but the...

    Managed Forest Law program advice

When we enrolled land in MFL, we had the option of excluding a few acres to be used as a future building site. As it was explained, it's much easier to do this at the beginning of the contract than to go back at some point in the future and amend the contract. Even if you don't plan to build...

    Tick Repellent Clothing

A quick internet search shows that most bug repellent clothing is treated with permethrin. Our military has been using it since 1990. Many articles state that a combination of permethrin treated clothing and deet applied to the skin is the most effective method to avoid ticks. Keith

I had one that was mature and bearing pears before I planted other pear trees, so they could very well be self fertile. Keith

    Chestnuts Still no radical! WTH

I had the same results with my first attempt last year. This year I have about a 50% germination rate. It does make you wonder how trees manage to grow in the wild when we fail at it under ideal conditions, with all the information that is available to us. Keith

    Property/Neighborhood Review NE Wi

I have a couple co-workers that are from that area. One family has been in that area for three generations. We looked at a map today and it turns out he has cousins that own farms on hwy 49, about a mile east of the property you are looking at. They practice QDM and have decent hunting. If you...

    Brush Cutter Suggestions

I agree with the comments about a rigid top link being a nuisance on uneven terrain. I just made a hinged top link for mine. Some guys are also making a short link out of chain to allow the mower to follow the terrain. It's a simple problem to fix.

    Wisconsin DMAP

The DMAP program is fairly new in Wisconsin. I believe it's similar to programs in other states. I signed up as a level 1 member just to see what the program has to offer. I see it as another resource with monthly email updates and training seminars offered around the state on various habitat...

    Chestnuts Still no radical! WTH

I have some chestnuts in the refrigerator that I checked last night and found some of the radicals are 1/2"-1" long. When I transfer these to my 18s, should I make a hole in the soil & place the radical in it or lay it on the surface? I appreciate you guys sharing all of the good information...
