Are you enrolled in an farmland assessment program? In NJ my home is taxed one one acre. The other 59 acres have just met the two year working requirement for woodland management. I’m able to put in a storage type building for equipment and such without my taxes being affected.
As mentioned above. If it were me I would be going the manure route. Depending on size even having some topsoil delivered would help. I’d be trying to work on the top 4” of soil to help with moisture retention up front so I’d till it in about that deep. I think using winter rye, buckwheat etc...
I’ve got this guy. Best to show up so far. I’ve pulled my cams only twice. And even then only check whichever ones in near. Without a doubt same genetics as the buck I took last season. Last year I took a 9 point. This guy split into a 10. 3 1/2 at best. This is a screen shot of a video since...
It’s such an effective easy method. I think there’s very few ways to truly do it “wrong”. I have an excellent clover/chicory plot trail. In mid August or so weather dependent, I’ll broadcast brassica and winter rye into it. Then mow it. Couple weeks after that I fully expect to see it taking off...
Also just something I thought of. In one of the garbage crime infested cities I find myself working in often, we have had a welder torch a hatch into the top of the container. Multiple locks on top. The container is still locked from the outside as well as inside. Even if they get into the top...
I likely will not mow this year after reading and looking furthur into a mow/don’t mow subject that’s popped up as of recently. When I overseed in late summer with a fall/winter food source I will mow for the benefit of the thatch.
If the place has WiFi get a “ring” spotlight. $30 for the year and all videos are recorded. Your also immediately alerted with any triggers amid the camera
This is year two on the new property for me Of using these methods. I combined that with frost seeding. In less then ideal conditions I have a decent stand of clover going. Took soil PH from low 5’s to nearly mid 6 in one season with nurse crops and surface broadcasting amendments. This is a...
Got in another 7 hours today opening up a bedding area section to the sun. Next week I’ll finish the fine detail hinging. And then a day to clean it all up and ensure no dead ends. Also got the last tree for the TSI for he year cut. No more “blue” trees till next winter. Can’t wait to put he...
