can we spray something before blooms open or is this just a weather issue we hve no control over ?

My issue on my ayers pears this year is after blooming we had some cold weather maybe 28 so i thought they were safe as apples next to are loaded but now i see the old blossoms are dead and black? I have not been to farm since they had bloomed so was expecting a loaded tree , i dont see any...

So when they finally fruit are they producing good ? My trees on this rootstock are already pushing 20 ft tall I have some liberty on same I geuss I wait

I see those pictures and cant wait till my trees start producing like that! How long on average does it take to get trees to a size where they are producing a decent amount , most of mine are on b118 m111 and i continue to add yearly , yes its pretty addicting im up over 100 but all under 5 yrs...

we had best blooms this spring to date and didn't realize it even got below 28 on 2 late frost but I was just there yesterday southern iowa zero survived from pears all way through with apples and crabapples was shocked after not being there since bloom ,geuss coons wont be a problem .

My bees woke in fridge too no flowering yet central iowa prob put out weekend bee houses ready though couple pears really close

thanks yea exactly what these are doin staying alive not really growing , luckily ive been planting turkey creek trees last 4 years best decision ive made great doin trees. I agree put a good tree in there place as these are on a slow death thanks

I notice I've got a few 4-6 year old apple trees that have really poor roots I can literally push side to side. they have produced some apples last couple years and leaf out good. These were container trees from lowes so im thinking this may be the issue my newer trees on m111 and b118 seem...

My first 10 trees planted in 2016 last year they put on quite few been adding to every year more and more crabapples last couple. Thanks for sharing hoping for same results !

those pictures of water core is what I would say was the clear I saw in my apples along with brown but not as severe as those worse ones if that makes sense sprayed early in season twice with bonide orchard spray again trees for wildlife but we like to eat some too thanks
