    Health issues

Curious on the decision for removal vs radiation! My dad had prostate cancer, and opted to do 5-6 higher doses of radiation with relatively few symptoms. The higher dose/fewer session route was not given as an option until we did research and inquired about it on our own. Just wanted to throw...

Ruined my KS season before it started!

Yeah I love the one buck rule coming from Missouri. I do wish you could buy multiple tags and only fulfill one. But not complaining about the regulations, only my lack of research. If I happen to tag a big muley, I’ll be happy it turned out the way it did!

Ruined my KS season before it started!

Just here to complain. Haha. This is my first year hunting as a KS resident, so I should have done more research. I live in eastern KS, and planned to hunt whitetails here the entire archery season. But, my in-laws have some land with muleys (rare) in western KS, so I put in to get drawn for a...

    Persimmon or Plum?

First summer with the farm. It’s loaded with persimmons which are all green, but I noticed two trees with red fruit. My phone app says plum.

    Screening Driveway

Hey all, Apologize if this has been covered specifically. I have a few questions regarding creating a permanent screen along this driveway. My plan was to do giant Miscanthus and then some Easter Red cedars for a more permanent solution. Mainly because I’m concerned with herbicide drift...

No Till/No Herbicide: is it possible?

I've watched most of them! Just wondering if there was actually a way to get started without using either. Sounds like it's a process though Definitely interested in some natives in some of these plot areas, so thanks for this. My latest plan for this 4 acres before getting the idea of...

No Till/No Herbicide: is it possible?

Just east of KC MO. I do have a bush hog and a row planter. There’s a local drill we could rent as well.

No Till/No Herbicide: is it possible?

Really didn’t have an exact plan yet. Clover is certainly an option. Ideally I would have something growing/palatable 365. Maybe something like Grant Woods process. But didn’t know if you could really get that rotation started without herbicide or tilling.

No Till/No Herbicide: is it possible?

Hey all, I bought a farm last November. Some of the areas I want to plot haven’t been touched in 30+ years, so I’ve been going back and forth on if I never till or never use herbicides. Is it possible to do neither with much success?? If you had to choose between no-till and no herbicides...

What all do I have growing in this field?

@Bill, @Native Hunter If those open areas end up having a strong stand of serecia, should I just go ahead burn them down and no till in soybeans this year, or wait and observe a year. Again thanks for all the help, this is all great.

What all do I have growing in this field?

Thank you so much! A couple follow up questions: Would you plot around those cedars or take them out? What are some good options for screening the roads? I was gonna start with annuals like Egyptian wheat. Was thinking about Giant Miscanthus, but worried that herbicide from the crops might...

What all do I have growing in this field?

Would be curious how you would lay this property out? Red areas are the open areas I made this post about. The pastures on the north side will be in a corn/soybean rotation. Here is drone footage of the place: https://streamable.com/cl72qo
