Thanks. The tower was a fun and long project. It has really has made my gun hunting more exciting and relaxing. I have more pictures of the tower in "Can it be done sent proof blind" in the Projects building something section.
Using an electric fence has been very effective for me. I used aluminum wire and it does work pretty good. I have had a few incidents where deer hit the fence and stretched out the wire, but it is easily fixed by twisting the slack together. Once the deer learn they seem to leave it alone. I...
I also enjoy spending a lot of time dreaming up new improvements I can make for the hunt while in the stand. I like your idea of filtering the air through a ozone generator. That would help with proving whether they really work or not. I've never used one yet. When it comes to scent control, it...
It's still a work in progress.
I have widows all around. I bought the center window from deerview windows. This is the west view and I can shoot out to 350 yards.
This is my east view. It is 210 yards to the far end of the field.
This direct vent heater was a game changer with all that...
Are you using residential house windows? Are they sliders or hinged? Do you have any pictures? I'm curious how easy is it to open the window when a deer is in bow range without spooking them.
I didn't even know they sell blinds with double pane windows. I have never bought a box blind yet. Maybe when I find that next perfect spot I'll have to take a look at some.
Maybe you guys down south can hunt in a air tight bind with out any fogging up the windows. but up here when it gets cold you need to have some air flow or a direct vent heater.
I'm in central Wisconsin in zone 4b and mine survived last year -20 with no snow no problem. It was the fourth year since i planted it and I do have a nice thick layer of mulch from the previous years growth.
If I had more time I would love to team up with you and perfect an after market product to solve this issue. I’m not sure how big of a potential market there would be for it with the number of 3pt drills out there.
I am still waiting to see just how the leaning affects the germination from this...
I was thinking the same thing on the center drive wheel design. I have a lot of hills and slope on the fields I plant and notice the drill will lean to either side when I plant. I have my stabilizers as tight as I can and have the drill centered behind the tractor. I was thinking maybe trying...
When I planted the buckwheat in spring I didn't seem to have this problem. I'm wonder if the seed shape has something to due with it. I know the openers have a lot of travel and the rubber drop tubes need to compensate for that, but I would think they could have come up with a better rubber drop...
Not sure if I should have started a new thread or not but I replanted the buckwheat field with oats in the main seed box and a clover mix in the small seed box. I'm a little concerned with how the seed placement seems a little spotty. See pictures below. I'm trying to figure out why and I'm...
I'm not sure if it can be controlled with 2,4db or not. I never had much success with using it in my clover plots. Last time I sprayed it, i had issues with it hurting the clover. Maybe next spring I'll try 24d in the left over rye from this fall.
