Since we are building a new blind, thought about sharing a few pictures and some discussion. Blinds are built at home them transported to the farm due to distance and time constraints. I will just cover a few details in this thread to help folks. I will not the entire construction process. The...

    Siding for a box blind?

A better look at platform before adding staple zippers as final step. Floor joists can be on 14.5-16" centers....with brace blocks in the middle....kinda depends on outer dimensions....use 2x6s. For elevated stands.....add two 3/8" galvanized bolts per leg and another brace block to inner leg...

    Siding for a box blind?

OSB board is fine for blinds if the outside is painted (buy returned ext latex at the box store) and the inside kept dry (buy windows....good windows...well sealed...easy and quiet to open) and a shingled roof (shingles rock!). Wind blocking of sheathing is what keeps the blind warm.....or...

Welcome QDMA forum users and an announcement

Walked away many years ago from QDMA and made it clear why to forum users many times. Not happy with the closure of the QD forum as it is a very busy time of year to deal with more BS. A wise man watches the tides, so he can see the tsunami coming! You don't have to be a member of any...

    Miscanthus Giaganteus propagation from cuttings.

Bill, The MG cuttings you sent are still green and growing in pots.....put them outside on warm days and bring them in when freeze is forecast. I assume keeping them alive over winter and then transplanting a living potted plant in spring is the thing to do? Thanks again for taking the time...

The Adventures of CrazyED the beach sand guy

Exposed mud on drawn down or areas which are low for extended time by can flood are good places for broadcast plots. You sand may not hold water but areas like that will. HAve you thought about plotting it?

Anyone else get native clover after spraying roundup?

We keep changing our grazing routine and now get all kinds of broadleaf plants which I've never seen before. No pasture spraying this year!

    Spray Throw Pray

Late may mow and overseed...which is opposite what most do....SIL has allergies so best I mowed first. Clover plot with heavy winter annual grass load....warm season annuals overseeded. Se what plant you can identify.
