    The Throw n’ Mow Method

I tried it with ag soybeans, cause they were so cheap($20/50lb). I had some come up, but it wasn't as good as with cowpeas because the seed is so much larger.

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

I'm jealous as he**! My plots are just dead thatch with seed under it(i hope anyway). We haven't had any significant rainfall in 2 months. Dry as the surface of the moon here.

    scales and weights

Scott, thats the same scale we have. We've weighed every deer killed on our club since the early 90's. People guess at weights, and they always guess high. I hear all the time people saying how much a deer wighs and it gets comical sometimes. Where i live, a 200lb live weight buck is hard to...

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

Honker, you may need some nitrogen on your plots, i see a lot of yellowing, unless you've been getting a lot of rain. One thing i've noticed. I've been using a sprinkler on a couple small plots and you have to run a sprinkler for several hours to get the dirt below the thatch good and wet. Even...

    Couple of New Trough Feeders

I would think a deer would not want to stick his head down into something to feed. Anybody noticed this? I thought it would block their eyesight.

Climbing sticks - I hate the straps!

All the of your weight is straight down, i have no problems with the cam buckles and been using them for over 15 years. I replace them every 2-3 years. I loosen them every year.

    Throw and no-mow???

I spread my seed last sunday, a week ago. Grass was standing knee high. Sprayed on Monday. It rained on it Sunday, thats the reason i waited until Monday to spray. Grass will lay down by itself usually within 7-10 days. Yoder, i disagree about the sunlight issue. I actually think standing grass...

    Question on spraying gly..

Ky1792, you should have sprayed first then threw seed and mowed, but it can still work with adequate moisture.

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

I'm sorry, i was responding to CNC's post on the spread, spray, walk method.

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

It would eliminate thatch being too thick where it windrows.

    What would you plant here?

If i was using it to camp, i wouldn't want to draw deer to the area. No sense in spooking deer. I don't like planting anything for deer on my access roads, that i use to access my stands for the same reason.

    Keeping knats away while hunting?

Why do you think plumbers leave the crack of their arse showing? To keep the knats outta their face. I use a thermacell.

    The Throw n’ Mow Method

Crimson, what is the concensus on why he waited 2 weeks before mowing? To let rain push the seed to the soil?
