What is "Lightly Disking" and is it better than a drag

Either of the above methods should work. What I've done with those seeds before is to disk with the blades set at a good cutting angle. Then, spread the seed. Readjust the blades so they're straight. Run over it good with the blades just high enough to break up the clods. That should cover them...

    What Herbicide for Pollinator Field?

I believe the wildlife usage I see in my old field areas are due to other "stuff" in the NWSGs. But, I don't know if it would be the same if I had a monoculture of grass. I don't think I would see the same usage, but I can't say for certain. What I need to do is keep knocking back the NWSGs as...

And, here's a recent video of him discussing their findings:

    What Herbicide for Pollinator Field?

I've seen great response from the native seed bank after dormant season disking, but that only happened for one year. It wasn't followed up over multiple years. So, I don't know of the cumulative effects it might have of repeatedly doing that. Here's a document from some of Dr. Harper's latest...

    What Herbicide for Pollinator Field?

The plateau was used at and soon after establishment to control johnsongrass. I haven't used it since then. I don't have any experience with clethodim on NWSGs. I was going to do the burning in an area where I wanted summer forage production instead of grass cover. Based on some of Dr. Harper's...

    What Herbicide for Pollinator Field?

Yes, it was. I do need to burn it again soon because the native grasses are choking out everything except brambles now. I have some flowers, forbs, but the NWSGs are rough on them. I think burning almost every fall is going to be something I need to do to keep native grasses from overtaking it.

    What Herbicide for Pollinator Field?

Here's some johnsongrass (yellow in the background) 11 days after spraying with Plateau. It was tall too. I don't see many spots with it anymore.

    Allgood Acres

We have tons of fossils and rocks the kids have brought home. This was a cool piece of fossilized coral my daughter found in the food plot on the last trip. I tell my wife I bought her beachfront property, we were just a little late.

    Allgood Acres

Looks like the 5 year old one antlered buck we call Sweet tooth may put on some antler growth on that bad side this year.

Wild Turkey population is tanking across most of its range

If baiting was illegal, I would welcome the use of thermal drones by game and fish agencies to survey for bait sites at night around me.

Wild Turkey population is tanking across most of its range

My take away from that podcast was stopping baiting could be the easiest way to control mesopredators. It's easier to do that than it is to trap or do habitat work. They talked about top-down vs bottom-up mesopredator control and how both have been shown to be effective. Top-down control is...

Wild Turkey population is tanking across most of its range

This subject of turkey populations and perceived reasons for population size increases/decreases led me to listening to too many episodes of the Wild Turkey Science podcast with Drs. Lashley and Gulsby (with occasional guests) talk about these subjects. I was listening to some where they were...

Wild Turkey population is tanking across most of its range

Do you think it would make the harvest numbers for Arkansas go up?

Wild Turkey population is tanking across most of its range

Will there still be a state limit on harvests, or will each zone have different limits? If you can still only kill the same number, regardless of zone, I'd be for it from a hunter perspective, just to hear the gobbling. It might actually limit pressure on each zone across the season timeframe...
