Silky or gray dogwood?

I'm almost positive that is a grey. If you look at its truck/ stem it looks and feels like grey tree bark. All the the other dogwood I know have a smooth waxy bark. If it was a silky it would have reddish purple stems. The new growth will really stand out red or purple.

I’d vote grey, the silky leaves are slimmer.
