Green scored 153 6/8.
As mentioned, Logan has been working on getting permission to hunt this place 10 minutes form the house for 1.5 years. Figured out earlier this year that my B-I-L knew the owner, and I ran into him at a wedding. After several conversations, Logan finally got permission. He and I hung three hang on's the second week of bow season, then relocated two of them after he had a few sits. He saw this buck just out of range 7 times prior to getting the shot Friday morning. He had two does in front of him feeding when Huch slipped in checking the does. He put his head down and fed in front of Logan for :15 minutes before finally presenting a shot just before 8:00. I knew when he called me that he had shot him, but could tell something was wrong. Logan said he though the shot was too far back, and after the shot he ran about 20 yards and stood there. Logan could see blood rolling down his side as he stood there for 4-5 minutes, then he turned and walked off towards the creek bottom. I told Logan to stay in the stand for an hour in case he stayed close. He finally got down at 9:30, and called saying he saw two does down near the creek bobbing their heads and looking back to the creek. He caught some movement and it was his buck down by the creek 80 yards away still alive but bedded down so he backed out. We went back around 11:30 and eased down the trail to within 100 yards when Logan found him in the binos and said he was still in the same place. We both looked for a while to confirm he was not moving, then Logan eased down closer while I watched. Thankfully he only went +/-50 from the shot and bedded down. The shot was way back, but he did clip the far lung. Don't think that is what did him in though.
Really happy for him and looking forward to his next chase for the old one, or the big 8 that just showed up last night.
