And I totally get that. I love eating fish but it’s get boring catching things like crappie.
Haha yeah, oh I'm definitely jealous. North central IL is a terrible location to have great fishing opportunities. I like watching this thread to see all the cool things you guys catch.

Middle Georgia is a great place for a fisherman. Many freshwater opportunities and the Georgia coast is only 3.5 hours away. Can also be in parts of the Florida panhandle that quick with the other parts only about 4.5 hours away. Some days, we leave at 2 am, fish all day, then drive home. Sleep comes very easy that night.

We’ve caught Dolphin fish before but this is the first Mahi for my boat.

he went back in the drink, to small to kill. They really have great color when they first come out of the water.

IMO, one of the prettiest fish in the ocean.

We are going back to The Keys next June. Hoping to get out and catch a boatload or two of them. That water out there gets deep in a hurry.

I was working on the trailer. Brake pads rusted to the rotors while it sat this summer. While I did that, my son and buddy went fishing :emoji_disappointed_relieved:.

Got the brakes working and Pulled the boat for the season when they finished.

lots of fishing left but deer season is warming up.

close on the new boat tomorrow..next summer will be different. Hopefully better different.

Fished Lanier this morning. Put in at east bank around 6:45, off at 12:15. Started slow, but picked up once I figured them out. Greenfish (spotted bass) scattered between brush piles in 20-30' of water. Most came on a fluke or sebile. Nothing on top and just a few on the drop shot. Landed +/- 15 and missed/lost twice as many, unfortunately not much size.

Would have thought it was a weekday based on the few boats I saw. For thos of you that don't know, they cal Lanier the Atlanta ocean.

Went back out yesterday. On the water around 6:45, off at 1:00, but the last 1.5 hours were spent marking new waypoints. Landed around 20 all on the fluke. Missed my only bite on a drop shot and no takers on top water or the sebile, but I really didn't throw them much. Took a few pics.

I bet that fish got tired of having his picture taken over and over again

Nice spots! Just twitching a fluke along the bank or drop shotting a fluke?

We fish them a lot on Table Rock in the spring months.
