Enhancing image detail/resolution from cell pics

Only tried Gigapixel's AI, on a couple of pictures. Watermarks are because of the free trial.

I didn’t know there was such a thing. Interesting

The above were done on computer. There are a # of them for smartphones as well - Remini etc. Most claim to do a bit better with the paid versions and/or have other features added. May be worth it if a lot of cams and pics :emoji_thinking:
I'd like to see some comparisons though- from off the card as well as those being sent HD from the cams.

You really need to do a fair comparison by comparing this to other interpolation algorithm and show the results that are the same size. Start with the same picture and run it through photoshop with algorithms like nearest neighbor and bicubic. Compare those results to the Gigapixel results.

The bottom line is this. Interpolation makes educated estimates to create data where none exists. Some algorithms may do it a little better than others depending on the characteristics of the picture. Some can make pictures look "better" than others, but looking better doesn't really increase the amount of information.

I haven't used the Gigapixel algorithm but I've used a bunch of others. There is no substitute for a higher resolution image sensor. Of course with most cell based cameras, that does little good as pics are decimated before they are transmitted.

And that's why I was looking into this...for the cell-transmitted decimated pics. In the Cuddeback thread someone complained about not being able to request HD pics be sent, to be able to see how big the buck actually was. One of these programs/apps may be able to help with that. And then even those cams you can request HD pics from there's either a separate cost for that or it gets deducted out of your data/plan...so something like this may be cheaper in the long run, or even free. Just depends on if it works good enough.

I'm sure Stealthcam will add something like this to their website/photo album. They did the black/white to color one....
