Anybody use a Woods Seeders for no till drilling

The FPS and PSS are essentially the same thing, the only real difference is that the FPS is a more compact frame. I have the PSS84 and it has disc gangs, spiked roller that runs the gears, and cultipacker. That being said, they offer the PSS without disc gangs as well...those units just have two...

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

I will probably look into something like this if I end up buying the place. There’s about 30% of the original planting that’s been overrun with trash and choked out the planting. The rest is doing pretty well.

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

I may need a private consultant as well. When I asked to speak with someone who was well versed in CP3 she says, “Well, I’m not sure exactly...I guess that would be me. I’ll try and help.” Nice lady but I am not confident she’d my best solution. Doesn’t help they’re under staffed and way behind...

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

It’s more Greek to me than it is to you, I know that’s for sure! There are so many programs, enhancements, incentives, etc that it’s nearly impossible to keep straight. That’s not to mention that there are multiple state and federal organizations running different programs that sometimes...

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

How many times has that same piece been enrolled (or re-enrolled) in CP-3?

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

FWIW it sounds like recent changes to the CP3 program only allow for one re-enrollment. In speaking with them it sounds like the only FSA programs on the table would require taking a dozer to much of it, which wouldn’t make much sense. There may be EQIP programs, but she (and I) obviously wasn’t...

Many oaks. Whites aren’t doing great. Reds are doing well.

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

That would be my hope. Many of the trees are big. With the renewed emphasis they announced on climate change CRP practices this year you would think they’d want to keep it enrolled.

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

That’s a good question, although I’m not sure it’ll be a major issue here in MO. I own both forest land and crop ground in a couple different counties right now. Mine doesn’t really vary much and rural vacant land taxes are fairly low in much of Missouri. I pay less than $1500 total per year on...

    Tree CRP question(s) - CP3

First, let me preface this post by saying that I am/will go speak with the local FSA about these questions. My purpose for posting this is to gather any information the group may have regarding prior/current experiences with ground that is or was enrolled in the Tree CRP program to help guide my...

My tiny shed to cabin project

For the border, 1/2 is gravel and the other 1/2 is pasture. We only started poisoning two deer seasons ago. We didn’t reload them this turkey season unfortunately.

My tiny shed to cabin project

Haha! There’s a living quarters in my shop at my north MO farm and it’s overrun with mice. My buddy’s dad works in commercial pest control. He brought up a box of green pellets, 6 of the heavy brick weighted bait stations and 12 of the smaller ones. We can’t keep them filled we kill so many mice.

Anybody use a Woods Seeders for no till drilling

It’s not a drill and shouldn’t be confused with one. Depending on what you’re planting you can do so without conventional tilling, but it’s not a drill. I have a Woods PSS84 and planted wheat and radishes directly into a knee to waist high field last fall. The field was mixed weeds and not grass...

    3pt hitch Tree planter

Is this still for sale? Is depth of planting adjusted by the 3pt hitch or is there a different way to regulate the depth?

    Reconyx Cellular

Some of it would depend on how many pictures they’re taking and how often you have it set up to transmit. My lower volume cameras last quite a while on just the AA batteries, but my high volume sets (100+ pictures a day) would drain batteries within a couple weeks without an external battery.

    Reconyx Cellular

I am. I would say external batteries are a must. I bought the HME external battery packs with a solar charger on them. I had to splice in the correct connection because the Reconyx cameras had a different jack. They are okay, at best. The one I have in a wide open field is still running but the...

    Reconyx Cellular

I also figured this was the case since I couldn’t find a itching through the app. I’m going to shut a few of mine down for the spring as well. Hopefully they can build a hibernate function into the app. I would still like to see them add additional functionality to the app. Their customer...

    Double/Two man ladder stands

Good info. I’m glad I didn’t pull the trigger on a bunch of them yet. These things sound like some limitations to heavily consider.
