Wondering myself. All I know is that they need to be American. I’m told the Asian varieties do not drop “on schedule” as it relates to deer hunting.

Sheds will be falling off a bit early this year since so much of the US had such a brutal cold snap. Stress is what does it, and so much snow cover and cold will definitely stress them. Get out and look for sheds - I bet they’re dropping like flies now...
I don’t know if glyphosate or any herbicide will really do that well in the spring. I plan on burning it first and there will be a tremendous flush of growth. I would think it would at least set it back. So I might mow and spray it multiple times.

Anyone have any sure fire way of controlling switch grass in the spring? I’m going to create diversity pockets in my 4 acre monoculture of switchgrass. I’m guessing herbicide will have limited results since there’s such a flush of top growth after I burn. I’m also reading that mowing it...
