Yearling... With promise
We are meeting with a private forester in the next month or so to write a forest management plan and enroll our property into the Managed Forest Law program in Wisconsin. I have a logging operation happening now which may finish this spring if mud season holds off another month or so. Any suggestions on how to navigate mandatory harvests or slant the plan towards wildlife while staying within the program would be appreciated. Those of you that are in the program, any advice on specific do's and dont's?
The plan with this first harvest which I marked myself lays out the foundation moving forward with openings, food plots and bedding areas but I would like to keep things in control while receiving the $40ish per acre tax break.
