Well crap - I guess my comment about the eye color is proven once again. I am not overly familiar with waterfowl (ducks in particular) - I guess I need to pay more attention. We have harvested a few male Woodies before, but we purposely avoid shooting the hens. Still great photos.

IMO - one of the prettiest birds out there !! I once had the great luck of having a family of woodies swimming around right below me on a remote beaver pond. I was up on an overhanging embankment on my belly hidden by some grass. They never knew I was there. What a show for about 20 minutes before they swam off to the other side of the pond !! Great pix Steve, as usual. Thanks for sharing them !!
