it was a helicopter ( like maple) Sampas sprouting seed.

kinda looks like the horse chestnut in my backyard.

Been thinking on this one for a few minutes. Everything is pointing to horse chestnut/buckeye family (Aesculus sp.), but the samara part is throwing me for a loop. By no means am I all that familiar with western trees though.

I suspect someone made a mistake with that pot. Unless it's a foreign species.
