What Are You Planting This Spring?

Checked on my trees yesterday evening. I had about a 40% mortality rate on the English and swamp chestnut oaks slightly better on the chestnut oak and a bit worse on the English. The fruit trees are alive and doing very well for the most part. I have three dead fruit trees all sourced from Homedepot, so lesson learned there don’t buy from them in the future. We had a dry spell earlier this summer and I watered twice about a week apart then we got 5” of rain and another 4-5” this week so it’s been a very very good year for planting in remote areas with all the rains. Chinese chestnuts growth has been pretty good l will be adding more of them this fall.
