Trencher

Anyone have experience with a trencher skidsteer attachment? I need to run about 600 feet of water line and electrical through fairly rocky ground. Wondering about investing in a trencher attachment or if im better off buying an older stand alone trencher? Both can be had for about the same price(new skidsteer attachment vs 25 yr old dedicated rig). Yes I could rent one but I am planning on building a campground in the next few years and it would be practical to own a trencher for that project.

I have used both, and the dedicated one will be easier to use then the skid steer attachment. If you can get the dedicated one for cheaper, and in most cases you can get a good used one for cheaper, that would be the route I would go.

Rented one for the skid steer last year, ran 1200 ft of pipe. I've never used a dedicated one, but hard to beat AC and radio while trenching :-). Was gonna rent again this year but delayed the pipe party due to COVID
