The MO110 - A Farm Tour

We're running up on 1 year of owning our Missouri Farm and it has been nothing short of a blast. I can't hardly believe all the progress we have got done in that short of time, I'm already patiently awaiting Winters arrival just as much as Fall & Hunting Season so I can get back to the mass amounts of work I'd like to get done in the off-season. I'll post a few pictures of the place and this weekend I will start anew.

We are blessed with a great cabin to stay in, built by the previous owners, we have definitely made it our own. You walk out the front door directly to an acre pond.

Run around a half-dozen or so plots around this 1/4 - 1 acre size. We are located in a river bottom with dense cover - also surrounded by Ag.

The Turkey, Deer and Quail all seem to be in great numbers on our farm - the layout of dense pinoaks and cypress trees leaves some great undisturbed, natural cover for the deer/turkey. We also have a 45 acre enrolled CRP field.

These are my work partner's - Dragging Food Plots this past Spring.

I will leave it at that as a quick intro - I'll be sure to snap some recent pic's while I'm up working this weekend so I can get this thread back off the ground!

Split - They are all pre-existing plots, so a disc works just fine when it's time to turn the ground over. I have acquired both a disc and tiller, I just prefer a disc in most situations because of ease. We are surrounded by vast Ag expanses on to the west, south and east. Don't ever have a problem with my plots being taken out by the deer. The Beans from last year worked wonders for our Deer once the Ag beans were taken out, Nov into Dec. Also have perennial clover/mix planted that provide year round as well as some Fall/Winter annual plots. The deer were eating those turnip bulbs well past season!

Thanks, MH! I appreciate the kind comments, I think a general consensus on here between all of us is the pride we take in having the ability to work in the outdoors!
