Switch grass in 2018.....

May be too late but the best way to ID seedlings is dig some up with all the root intact and gently was away the dirt. Small seedlings will still be attached to an easily identifiable seed. Switch seedlings have a purple color at the base where they are emerging from the ground. (But so do other grasses.)

Peel back a blade on the grass. Switch won’t have any small hairs inside, foxtail will.

I’d mow to keep the foxtail from making seed heads.

I didnt catch it soon enough to keep it from making seed. Weather and equipment issues
