Miscanthus & Bedding

I bought 40 rhizomes in hopes of creating a micro pocket bedding area. I’m curious for those guys who have-are growing it, what planting pattern has worked best?

I’ve been following the Miscanthus thread, but it just seemed to be guys propagating them in general or planting them for screens.

The last couple years I've planted some MG pockets in a switch field we have, bare spots in the field. I've planted them in "U" shapes facing south and I have also planted some that are full circles. I let the bare spot dictate kinda what it looks like. These picks are from when I planted and I don't have any after the MG is up, maybe later this winter I'll get back there and check it out.

Made it back and went through the switch field I planted the MG in yesterday, about what I expected for growth for the first year. I'd say there is probably 1 tassel for every 10 plants that didn't tassel.

Here's some MG that I have planted more for screening but no prep.
