What do you use to sharpen blades?

I use DMT brand diamond stones for most sharpening. I keep one of their blue 1”x4” stones in my office desk drawer to refresh a working edge on my EDC knife. I also have a set of 4 of their 2”x6” stones. I like them very well and have had most of them for many many years. I also made a leather stropping block I use from time to time. One of my coworkers uses a 1” belt sander he loves it. He even gave me one of the belt sanders about a year ago, idk if I’ve even plugged it in. I don’t doubt it works stones are just more my speed.

I like getting around a bunch of city slickers and pulling this one out to clean my fingernails:

Native, what's the story on that giant knife?
I got it as a prize for winning an NWTF still target shoot. It has the NWTF logo engraved on the other side of the blade. I really do enjoy the look on people's faces when I pull it out and start cleaning my fingernails...LOL.

I've tried a few EDC knives but always go back to Blur. I take the clip off and put the knife in the bottom of my pocket. I'd bet you have the biggest collection of Blurs on earth.

I’m pretty sure there are a least few guys with bigger Blur collections I think a have around 55 of them a few duplicates but not many. Blur’s are probably one of my favorite EDC knives I usually pop out the rubber grip tape inserts in a S30V model and replace them with carbon fiber. I’m currently carrying a Kershaw Junkyard Dog to be honest I wasn’t crazy about the dog at first but after carrying it for a couple months it’s grown on me. I collect Buck knives also or my boys do I should say they each have gotten a Buck knife for Xmas every year since the youngest boy was born. I have 3 sons so I buy all their knives in triplicate.

A knife I bought several years ago for grafting and other field use. You could say I like it too much to use on the daily.

I started my knife addiction with slip joints as a youngster. I was probably 8-10 years old and I’d saved my money for a who knows how long to afford a 3 blade trapper style knife. I had already decided at that age I didn’t care for the cheap stainless bladed knives that simply couldn’t hold an edge compared to good old carbon steel at the time. So I bought a Colonial trapper and used it for many years. I then started driving several years later. I had an old new to me 1976 Jeep J-10 pickup and lost my beloved knife while working on it one day looked everywhere couldn’t find it. About a year latter I was again working on that gas guzzling POS I look down and saw what looked like a piece of plywood sticking out of a rust hole in the fender so I pulled it out. It wasn’t plywood it was my old trustee trapper slip joint knife back from the grave. I cleaned it up oiled it and retired it that would of been about 1990 or so. Here is a photo of that knife I took a few minutes ago I still have it.

Haha, that is a great story. Thanks for sharing.

I have a lot of knives, because my dad, my son and I like to give each other knives as gifts. Also, when I did competition shooting, Case was one of my sponsors, and gave me several knives. Below are some that you might like.

This first one is a gift from my son. Very unique:

These next two are a couple of favorites from my dad:

This is the first knife I ever bought, think maybe 1977. An old lady had a general store not far from our house. This was one of several that were in a display. Have gutted and skinned lots of animals with it over the years, but keep it in my drawer now.

Thanks. Yes, that is one of my favorites too. PS - In my safe, I have a yellow handled Case almost like that one of yours. Those are sweet little knives.
