Habitat-Talk’s September 2019 trail Cam Contest

Bill

Administrator
I know I’m late again. :(

Runs until Oct 10th

This one is hard antlers only.

Photos submitted for the contest must have been taken by a trail camera during the current month or the month prior. Example= To be eligible for the March 2019 contest, the photo must have been taken with a trail camera during February 2019 or March 2019.
Photos must be submitted on or before the last day of the month for the contest to be eligible. Example= March 31st is the last day to enter a photo in the March contest.
The winner is decided by the photo that receives the most "likes", counted on the 10th day after the end of the month. Example= Photo with the most "likes" on July 10th is the winner of the June contest. In the event of a tie the photo that was posted first will be deemed the winner.
Members can submit up to 5 photos per contest (one photo per post), however no photo can be submitted into more than one contest.
Members can "like" as many photos as they wish. (Participation is key to this working. Don't wait until the end of the month to vote for a winner, "like" photos as they are posted if you like them).
Categories to be announced on a monthly basis.
Any and all disputes or questionable entries will be reviewed by Admin and handled accordingly.
The category for this month is restricted to “Hard antlers”.

There is a small prize available for the winner. Good Luck!

I snagged a few of Parker’s Habit Junkie stickers for prizes this year. If you bought one now you’ll have another.
http://habitat-talk.com/index.php?threads/habitat-truck-decal. And one Scott’s camera camera mounts.

It’s not hard antlers, so it doesn’t count but a good sunset picture none the less.

Dig those brassicas in the background. Got lucky with moisture this year. Now I need to fertilize them.

Hard antler contest already? I've only got one that's out of velvet!

Small 6 that has been running with an 8 and 10 point. First out for 2019.

The hard-antlered 6 has these two in tow. You can still see him at n front so technically this counts :)

I’m sure the other two are out of velvet by now but I won’t be on the east coast for a while.

Yep pretty neat. I've never seen that buck before. He has a double main beam on 1 side. I have a few better pics of his velvet coming off, but those shots didn't have the other hard-horned buck in them, and I wanted to remain eligible haha. Bill, if you look on the left side of that pic way in the back you'll see some green bushes. That's a little plum patch I planted. All that open ground in front of that and surrounding it is where I planted 2 acres of Miscanthus this spring. I'm not seeing anything show up from the trail cam pics (although it'd be pretty hard to see), so I may hike out to check on takers.

Not the best pic but sometimes young MG is hard to ID. You may know this but if not, look for a white racing stripe right down the middle of the blade of grass. It’s a pronounced white and confirms MG over something else.

H&ll yeah I’ll shoot him! He’s mature and never going to be a Booner..

I love the character his rack has, Bill! Heck with scoring he sure looks like a buck worthy of hanging over a mantle.

As for southern deer, few of our youngest are shedding and sparring but the bigger boys just entered the MIA phase and the few pics I'm getting (thanks to crushed grape hulls leftover from juicing) don't show evidence of shedding quite yet. Know that will change over the next week or two.

That's a big one for any area Someday! He's probably been living in someones back yard all this time. I hope he sticks around for a while. Love the split antlers.
