Fire blight question

I've got a small orchard of about 25 fruit trees (mixture of apple, pear, and cherry). I was out at the farm and got to looking at them and one tree (a golden delicious) looked fairly well eaten up with fire blight. No signs on any other tree. I pulled the whole tree and sunk it in the bottom of a nearby pond. I hated doing that but did I do the right thing?

Did it have the black shepards hook limbs from last year

Yes

And the main trunk was all scarred up. I figured it was all infected.

If it worked it's way into the the trunk then probably a good thing

Too late to think about what's already history. Get another better tree planted........ Good luck.....

I cut down several producing pears because they weren't FB resistant
