Elevator cross bracing?

I need to elevate our 5x5 shadow hunter blind this spring. I already picked up the 4 10ft 4x4s. Does anybody know how long of boards I will need for the cross bracing.

I would go with 10' cross base boards.These are 4"x4"x 10' with 3/4"x 5"x 10' deck boards as braces.

I would agree that using the same length as your "legs" would be sufficient. Always easier to make the board shorter!

12ft but you could certainly get by with 10ft.

Are you still anchoring into the ground?

So this is obviously a bad picture... but bear with me on this. I am not sure of the exact length braces you need. But run them across both 4x4 legs and then have the end pushed into the ground. You’ll be impressed with how much sturdier the stand will be.B441F9F4-D9A2-42A4-95A4-D84A0CF18421.jpeg

I think some of the decision should be based on the width of the platform. My platform is 8' x 8'. The 4x4 posts are 10 and I went with 12' deck boards. Better too long than too short. You can always make them shorter.
