Does this Scion wood look okay for grafting?

James P. Bipps

5 year old buck +
I have a few apple trees that I would like to topwork or framework to this year. I pruned about a month ago, before I had any inclination to try grafting. I am familiar with T-budding which is done in August, but not with bark grafts, cleft grafts, tongue n whip, etc. I took these scions today. They are smaller than I would have liked, but any reason they shouldn’t work? Are they too mature?

I hope Native is correct because they look like a lot of the ones I used this year.

I used some just like those this year and they all have leafed out.

Look like some nice sticks to me!

Yep, they look like what I use.
