I wish Covert's did video at night. You can see the second buck in the background in the first pic. A smaller one in another pic before the first even.
Don't know this guy, could use a year, but he's pretty nice.
my sons namedthis guy "loppy" because he's so lopsided
This guy may be 4. But he's got a nice thick compact rack. I think I'd like to see him at 5.
There are 2 bonafide shooters. the rest would need another look, The 5 year old in the first picture moved in and took over a ridge that we killed the mature buck off of last year. He's now patrolling the sanctuary. Hope he stays put and we get a crack at him this fall.
Great eye. We call this buck squiggly Jr. He is 3rd one with that unique main beam characteristic. I'm trying to get pics of squiggly--think he might be 9 --who might be his dad and also has that feature. The original one from years back is now furniture in my game room
Interestingly I can post pics from reconyx cameras but not from Browning. Says file " too large". Open to suggestions...as long as simple. Technology deficit here
Hopefully one of these sticks around for me. New kill plot might just work out. I originally just made it for rifle season, but if this continues I might have to try to figure out how to get in to bow hunt it.
Would be fun to play "age this buck" but with the shadows making it challenging I'll spare the contest. This will be the 6 th year we have watched this buck thus believing him to be 9. zBest I remember his best yr. was either 4 or 5 when he was low/mid 170's. Drop back a bit since then and hasn't varied 5" with frame almost identical every yr. Mellow buck we see regularly.
Wish someone would teach me how to post pics that " to large to download" or something like that.
