I am experimenting with corn for the first time this year and was able to get a bag of Liberty corn. I am getting a little overwhelmed reading all the options for herbicides and was looking for advice on a good approach. We have had issues with marestail and Johnson grass before. Is a glufosin...
I have a few acres of row pines in central Wisconsin and I would like to convert a small patch were a bunch tipped over into a food plot. Anyone had success doing so? Any recommended plantings?
I have a tractor and grapple to clear the trees, is it critical to remove the stumps? I was thinking...
Ok
Thank you for both posts, lots of great info. I believe I should have pods as I have plenty of leaves and saw plenty of nodes near the leaf base. The tops of the plants have been browsed off but most appear to have survived and are getting close to where I think they should be able to keep...
I have a 3 acre and a just under 2 acre plot of ag beans that I planted in Central Wisconsin that has been e-fenced with minimal success. When I first set up the fence I did not have enough fiberglass poles so there were low spots and the deer were able to get in. Since then, it has been a...
we have been in a drought lately so I’m starting to think that’s the issue- we got rain last night so I will go check them again to see if that solved it. Nothing else makes sense. Thanks!
Good tip on the auto charger- mine has a 6 volt setting so that’s what I used and they seem fine after.
Plots are 2 and 3 acres.
I walked the fence and there are no breaks or weeds and tape is through all insulators (nothing touching metal T posts.
I’m stumped. And frustrated!!
I purchased two new Parmak Solar Pak 6 chargers this year and left them outside facing south for a week before putting in field.
I set my fences up and have both units on a wood post, facing south. When I checked on them after a week one charger was in the red zone (almost dead). I flipped the...
That makes perfect sense. I am wondering if I would be better off running flagging tape or something cheaper than poly wire on the inside since I wont be hot anyway? I ordered all the wire so I will probably just use it but this gives me something to think about! thanks for the insight
Very interesting. If I am having issues with the bottom strand of the inside fence grounding out due to vegetation I will consider only running the top and outer tape hot. Thanks for the tip
What do people use to connect the three different strands together (1 outer to 2 inner)? Should they be "bridged" together at more than one spot? Wouldn't think that would matter but this is a first for me.
Hi, I am planning on fencing two bean fields this year and am finalizing my supplies before this weekends installation. Plan is to run a 3-d set up with one outer strand and two inner strands.
I have enough T-posts with insulators along with enough fiberglass step in posts to go around both. I...
