    Habitat Consultants - MN

I know Joe Barttyla, have for about 5 years. I like his approach to land management and hunting. I think you should give him a call and hear what he has to say. Your land has some promising pinch points for hunting. Hunt the outside edge, and set aside a sanctuary.

    Pumpkin plot

I have planted pumpkins a few times in my food plot. First year they did great, I had so many pumpkins the deer had food until spring thaw. The next year they had half of them gone by deer season. The third year I didn’t see a single one. The deer loved them and ate them green. This next...

    New man cave/deer blind

I had a wood stove in my deer stand for a few years. I don’t have any insulation so wood was cheaper heat. Deer would stand in the smoke and didn’t seam to have any issues with it. I removed it for two reasons, first was noise, the second was having to reload the wood supply every day. It...

    Blind urinal

I have a tranny funnel and a 1” water line that runs to a 5 gallon pail buried upside down. I turned down a wood plug of sorts to help with smell. I used it last year and didn’t smell anything bad.

Frost Seeding Switchgrass in Logged Area

I did a small clear cut for a switch grass planting. It was around 1 1/2 acre. I am really pleased with the way it grew. I sprayed then dug around the stumps with a digger. I did burn it around year three. I do have some black Berry’s growing that I would like to kill. My only complaint is...

    DIY European Skull Mount

I have did a few over the last few years, takes time. I use a turkey cooker and dawn dish soap. Light boil and every 20 minutes I pull the head out and stir the brains and cut some more meat off the head. After a few hours I pull the nasal meat out and go over the scull looking for anything...

Pulled the trigger on the new tractor...

I also tried a JD but it was a 5055-60 E around 55 to 60hp. I had a hard time getting into the seat. The loader control pedestal pushed my knee towards the center of the tractor. It looked like a great tractor, but was the worst one for comfort. Your MF will be a good tractor.
