How to display sheds?

sandbur

5 year old buck +
I have a pair of sheds from a buck that is being head mounted. My wife does not want the sheds attached to a panel with the head mount.

Does anyone have pictures of different displays they have used?

Are the antlers removable from the display?

I have seen them displayed on a shelf mounted below the shoulder mount and I have also seen them draped over the mount with decorative cord/ribbon.

I mounted a set with mountain mikes plastic skull.

I guess they could be removed. A screw holds the antlers on from the back.

They look ok, until you get close.

These aren't mine but you could do build something like this or buy something like it. Pictures on the top and the sheds hanging?

Holy cow!!! U shot a deer??? Pics!!!!
I'd gladly help u out but I have to see these sheds and deer.

I like the shelf idea. If a guy has the cash you could always do a shoulder mount with the shed antlers and a cape from another deer of your choice. I have done that for a couple customers. One guy had two sets of sheds from the buck he shot so we actually did a three mount series, that was an exceptional deer though.

Thank you to those who gave valuable replies!

Great job Art, do you have a pic?

I think I would look at connecting the sheds with say para-cord or leather lacing or the like and hang them from a nail or the like.

Glad to hear you got a deer Art!

I see the haters haven't all left. I give an enthusiastic helpful response. If that's the way my gesture is perceived, I'm not going to go anywhere near the artistic things I do with antlers.
Oh congratulations!
Hope that doesn't offend anyone.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaahahahah (As MO would say.)

Dude, this is a positive place now, please let it go.

Do you try to be d1ckhole, or does it come naturally? You aren't worthy of responding to a Sandbur thread.

WOW ... If you knew Sandbur and the history of Minn deer hunting, and Dipper's sense of humor, you would understand your ignorance.

Like Dipper, I too was looking forward to Sandburs post of the pic of Minnesota's elusive Whitetail buck ... :)

I also hope Sandbur posts pic's of his harvest.

I also hope everyone remembers the recent past here.

I will continue to take the high road and further explain myself.
The size and in my opinion, the type of antlers will influence how I will display shed antlers with a shoulder mount. If that is what u in fact want. Tc is a good taxidermist and his idea is great about doing another mount. That can get expensive for some people.
I get real artsy with sheds. A lot of guys love when I counter sink screws into the antlers and hang them off of anything, than repair the hole so you can't tell there's a screw in there. Antlers floating along the wall, it can be done....
It's all about how much focus u want on the sheds, as well. Things can be as simple as leaving the previous year's sheds on an end table or small dresser below the mount. I have that on a 5 year 8 pt I shot. Mount hangs above tv,also mounted on wall. Year 3,4 sheds are layed out on small table below tv. Visitors love picked up the sheds, and comparing the antlers. Hunters and non hunters alike.

Congrats I hope your mount turns out good no matter how you decide to go with it.

Dan here are a couple of pictures. My neighbors had called him Blackberry Junior and they were kind enough to give me the sheds.

DIPPER-please say something nice or nothing at all. This is a warning and I will report you. I have had ENOUGH of your caustic comments!
