Cuddeback's Cuddelink

Long time follower/reader but just registered to post on this topic.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the burst will take them immediately regardless of trigger delay. If that's true, the first picture is still the only one that gets transmitted over the link.

Welcome. Just to warn you.... you’ll now be addicted to this site and find yourself posting at all hours of the day.

I Believe you’re right on the burst picture transmission.

I'm new with you guys on some of this stuff. I deployed 4 J series IRs at the lease and they are bringing back some great looking pictures. I'm most excited about the Home Plus and cell caps coming out and keep checking everyday to see if they're available for purchase.

On that note, I've seen some verizon cell caps available for pre-order -- will we get AT&T ones as well or do we have to purchase a dual flash camera that already has AT&T embedded in?

Some pics from last night with the G model and Double Barrel Strobe flash module.

This 'yote milled around for 25 minutes munching soggy corn and payed little attention to the strobe...

Trying to learn how to read this correctly. If image queue is zero that means all photos from my remote camera have been sent to my home camera, nothing waiting to be sent correct? And what are the SD Images? Total taken since the camera was first powered on? I thought it was since my last card pull but the numbers aren't adding up. Also I've seen it read zero in the queue and few hours later I'll check it again and I'll have new pics from the day before that have come through. I've been getting pretty consistent action at my salt rock all week with my remote camera but when I checked my home camera I haven't had a pic in over 24 hours from the remote and I'm showing zero in the queue. It's possible something scared the deer off but I'm doubting it. I also find it strange I've not got one night pic yet with my remote. Typically that's the majority of my pics. I even double checked the setting because I thought maybe night mode was off. I do have my Browning on the same tree to compare what's missing what, I think I'll go out and check what's going on if anything.

Well I'm happy to say the Cuddlink is working great! Pulled cards from the remote as well as my Browning black ops on the same tree. All the pics on the remote were sent to home. I just must have gone through a dry spell for deer. No night pics on the Cuddelink yet, the Browing had 2. One was a blank and one looked like something was touching the camera it was so close or it could have been just a glitch.

The Browning and Cuddelink were set at the same settings and I got 103 pics on the Browning and 68 on the Cuddelink (not including me pulling the cards) so more like 97 vs 67 when you take the blanks into account. The Browing had 5 blanks and that night photo of a weird pic so I'll call it 6 blanks. The Cuddelink had 1 blank. It didn't seem like the Cuddelink missed any advents but more like the Browning just got an extra pic or 2 per advent. It was interesting comparing the pics between the two and seeing how many times both cameras fired at the exact same time. I will add the Browing senses out to 70' but that didn't seem to play any role in having more pics since they were all pretty much within 15 yards. Over all I'm pretty satisfied with the G23, I'll have to play around with the J3 some more as I'm getting more blanks with it. This morning it actually took a pic of my shadow walking up from behind it. Didn't even know that was possible!

So I went out to check my cameras this weekend and this is what I found out! At about 5:30 PM I pulled the card from the home camera and this is the was the HTML file since the last I checked it

The next morning (About 8:00 AM) I went to camera 2 and changed a few settings based on the feedback I got . I changed the image setting from 3 burst to 1 picture. I set it as a 10 second delay and CL Delay is at the default for CL Delay. I also set the Day time lapse setting to 24 hours so that the camera would take 1 picture every 24 hours and I could make sure all cameras were sending images back to home. I made sure the camera took a couple images before I left.

I then added cameras 7 and 8 to the system. All the same settings 10 second delay time lapse 24 hours etc. Then went to cameras 3 - 6 in order and pulled the cards, put in new SD cards, formatted the cards, and set all settings the same as the other cameras described above. This was the HTML file I got at about 11:00 am, so 3 hours after I started and about 1 hour after I had been at the last camera. I made sure all cameras took my picture before I left.

As you can see it shows no images on any of he SD cards except the home camera....However, all cameras transmitted at least 1 picture back to the home camera, except camera 6 again. The reporting no images on the SD card has never happened before and I have never seen an image in queue on my report. It looks like camera 6 is still not transmitting back images. I am hoping taking one picture everyday with each camera might help me confirm that they are all working and just 6 isn't sending back. Could the 0 images on the SD cards be connected to using the time lapse function? This is the only real change I made besides changing from 3-burst to 1 image. Did I set he time lapse correctly by setting day time laps to 24 hours? My intent was one picture a day at the time I set the function.

I believe that PIR tripped images, time-lapse images, videos, and CL thumbs are each kept in different directories on the SD card. It looks to me like SD images on the report is only reporting the images in the 100Cuddy directory which is PIR tripped images. I've not yet set up a CL system so I can't say that for sure, but I think that's the case.

I walked in front of every camera to trip the PIR sensor and some pictures came back, but all but the home camera say theft have no imsges on the sd card!

I just stumbled across this thread after doing some research on the Cuddelink system yesterday, I'm going back to page 1 and read this entire post, I'll probably have some questions after I read all 29 pages... :emoji_astonished:

That's pretty cool looking! Nice job...wanna come do my cameras for me?
If I knew how much work it was going to turn out to be I wouldn't have done it myself!

I put my black flash Power House in the other day and couldn't find an option to select what flash I wanted, I've seen it before and had it set on IR. I thought maybe somehow it knows that there's a black flash in it now since I couldn't find the option. As I'm looking at my pics i got my first night pics and it's showing the red flash icon. Question is, is it firing all the LED's or does it think the stock dual flash is still installed and only doing half of them. I have no other night pictures to compare.

its using all the leds and is in the powerhouse black flash mode. The red icon on the pic is a glitch that will be fixed in a future firmware update, you can be assured that its utilizing all the leds, in Black flash.

When you have a powerhouse flash module in the camera you won't have an option in the menu for selecting the wavelength... the camera electronics communicate with the flash module electronics and set the appropriate menu selections automatically. I had the very same red flash icon show up on the pictures as you did when I first put in the black flash module but I wasn't as observant as you and didn't notice it until a week later. I've learned since then to take the batteries out of the camera when you're changing flash modules to force a hard reset of the electronics and that will take care of the red flash icon with the black powerhouse flash. It took more than one try of removing the batteries for me, so I'm pretty sure it only works when you hold your tongue in a particular cheek... but I didn't keep track of which cheek was the magic one. :emoji_wink:

Found this funny. Just picked up a second J series black flash and found this pic on it! Camera was new in a sealed box so I'm wondering how this came about. This isn't me! Hope this doesn't have any effect on what day my warranty started!

more than likely this occurred while the firmware was updated at the Distribution center. It wont affect your warranty.

Just went out and looked at the stats and the activation date reads 8/14/17 so it's going to look like this camera was activated then. If I ever send it in for warranty I'm going to lose 9 months. Guess I'll have to call them on this and get a replacement or get some documentation that my warranty starts 5/12/18. Already got to call them because I got the Genius PTL Mount and it didn't come with the Lock clip.

It will update automatically in a day or so to the current date. New cams never update instantly.

Good to know. My other cameras were the same way then more than likely. Never looked at them but this picture prompted me to look on this new one.
