This is a Red Oak I planted, it is at least 13 years old, and has never had acorns. I have zero experience with oaks. I have never noticed these thing before, will they be acorns?
That is the "flower" as I understand it (I have a burr oak that is covered in them). If it was a white oak family memeber I would say yes. Red oak memebers only produce acorns every other year - so it may be next year.
