White oak acorn storage?

Hello. It seems the English oaks and Garry oaks ans crimson spires are sprouting so I am planting them.

no action from the burrs, hybrids. I have a prolonged business trip for this November December.

How delicate are the radical s if they sprout while I am not around?

I plan on storing them in a cooler in moist soil in a cold garage that won’t freeze.

This is how much growth this one shows, it’s about 4 weeks planted maybe three.

I keep mine in the beer crisper in the fridge. Ziploks and slightly moist sawdust or sphagnum moss.
True white oaks are the hardest for me to keep. They wind up with too much root by the time I want to plant them.

That’s why I been planting them as the emerge.

Get them as cold as possible without freezing. It is definitely a challenge keeping white oaks from sprouting too much before next spring. I put mine in the fridge with somewhat moist condition, and then get them in soil and put them in an uninsulated garage as soon as we start getting temps consistently around freezing.
