What kind of grass is this?

It is about 4 feet tall, and looks like "johnsongrass", but clearly much taller. I want to kill it, but Yoder told me I need to know what kind it is before I try to kill it and see if I need a smother crop after I apply gly next spring, in prep for my fall planting. Thanks for any help! I'll try to find additional pics.

Is it a reed?
main stem with blades coming off it?
common reed.

Looks like canary grass. Crap if it is. Invasive.
