What is This ?

Found some shrubby trees with this fruit on them while hunting a reclaimed strip mine. Anyone know what they are?

Or could it be Cornus Kousa (Japanese Dogwood)? You can tell by cutting open pods. Strawberry Bush will have red seed inside. Jap DW will have orange flesh.

Stu, I wouldn't have known if I hadn't had one in the yard that fruited for the first time this year.:)

I remember seeing on a state nursery website (don't recall the state) a few years ago where they were selling those, so that may be how they got to the reclaimed strip mine. I bought mine from a different place.
