What is this in my clover plot?

This came early before anything else showed signs of greening up. I’ve got around 8 clumps of this coming and the deer are chewing it off as soon as they can get lips over it.

Any idea what this could be?

I thought of that too, but I've never seen curly dock touched. Of course, we all know that deer often do what we say they won't do. Could you put an exclusion cage around one of those?

Looks like it could be a wild rhubarb? It looks a lot like the rhubarb I have coming up in my garden.

My two thoughts earlier were part of it looked like rhubarb and part looked like asparagus! I just told my wife she is married to a legend. You guys are the best!
