What is causing this leaf disfiguring in a white oak please

Angus 1895

5 year old buck +
This is a coming three year old oak. Either a burr / English cross or a SWO. It looked absolutely fine 10 days ago.

It got really hot, and the tree got heavily irrigated. I also noticed some gnaw marks on the trunk, it’s not girdled.

I put a trunk protect tubing on it.

My main differential is sunburn, as some leaves shaded don’t have it. The black leaf areas crumble to the touch.

Many thanks

Looks like the new growth got fried.
I'd ditch the black tile tube also. Tends to heat up too early in the spring, IMO.

If it's excessively wet this year, I'd say it looks like anthracnose.

It also froze a few days last week.

I am seeing the lesions on many other oaks.

So either sunburn/ frost complex is suspect
