We did it!

As miserable as a southern summer can be, if we didnt have some hot dry weather, I might not ever be able to access half my property. Plus, it keeps most out of staters from moving into this part of the country😎

While September is closer to Fall, we have way too many Indian Summers to get excited here yet. Though the forecast does look promising. I usually start to enjoy the weather again about Oct 1st.

Are you guys down south? Summer in New England is just about as gorgeous as it gets. Can't imagine wishing it away.

I still expect some triple digit days.

I think I saw something the other day that said in my area we have not officially broken 100 this year. Plenty of upper 90s and insanely high dew points for the majority of July and August have just made it feel way more miserable.

My boys and I cut a lot of locust and hedge sprouts in the pastures this summer it was really miserable this summer.

Wasnt really a horrible summer here. I bet we didnt break 100 over a dozen or so times. 106 was as hot as we got.

Yes in the armpit of hell. It’s horrible for 3 straight months

Ah, I see. Makes sense. Yeah, I couldn't stand that either. I spent a summer at Ft. Benning once and the next summer at Lackland AFB in TX once....that was enough for me. Brutal.

In Texas we have almost summer, summer, still summer and a little winter. Then once in a while we have a year like this when we get good rains all summer and it’s not as hot but the humidity is awful. There is no doubt that I’ll be hunting in my shirt sleeves this fall.

I do this every year…about mid August I’ve had enough and I start wandering. i find myself looking at listings out west and convincing myself we need to spend summers out west. I snap back to reality with the first cool front though

September 1: Dove season is upon us…I saw dozens today, and look forward to dove hunting Thursday evening and Friday morning. The weather today was low 70s with a few drizzles. Fall is my favorite time of year, and today was a wonderful taste of what is to come. Two weeks from today I’ll be bow hunting deer. Yeah!

After a short little vacation to Northwest WI this Summer, while it was brutal here, my wife could already see the wheels in my head turning. I could easily convince myself to reside there in the Summer and back in Nebraska or Kansas for the Winters. I have no desire to go live in the deep South in the Winter. However, I do not want to battle feet of snow either.

Being in the north 90 days is enough of the heat for me. I can't imagine how you southerners deal with it or frankly even why you do. It must be God almighty nasty
