I have a Takeuchi TL8 rented and I decided to go ahead and buy the Danuser Intimidator tree puller attachment. I have a tractor it might work on but most likely I will end up buying a track loader in the near future. For anyone needing to clear out an overgrown area with crappy 1" - 4" trees, this thing is pretty amazing. It pulls the trees straight out of the ground and you can shake off most of the dirt. The serrated edges can be used to cut roots if there is a tree too big to pull. Last year I made a new timber opening and used an excavator. Definitely way better for large trees but for all the little ones, this thing flies. I got through an acre of autumn olive and a bunch of other crap in an afternoon. Renting one wasn't an option around here or I would have done that though with clearing trails, making new openings, etc., I think I will keep it busy enough to justify long term.
