I have t-buds i did last August that appear successful, they are healed in to the trees and buds are swelling, When i cut the original tree off above the bud graft should i seal that cut or just let it go unsealed?

Tom Spellman of Dave Wilson nurseries says the jury is still out on whether that helps it heal or not. But it doesn't hurt anything so the choice is up to you.
I never have. I did lose a bunch my first year. I thought maybe I pruned too late (bud growing already) and too close to the bud. A bit of wax on the cut might have help helped
I had one that took off not long after budding it late last summer, i made the mistake of cutting that tree off and now its dead, clear down to the soil line at least. I should have let that one go until spring. Before i dump the pot though i'll see if anything sprouts up from the roots.
