Taking over, what is it?

What is this? Like a grass that takes over then looks like some oats or something. Maybe 12-18” tall.

Not a great picture for ID, but it looks like Brome Grass (aka Cheat Grass). There are many species of it - some annuals and some perennials. They all look a lot alike. If it seems really aggressive and seems to come out of nowhere all of a sudden, it's probably one of the annual varieties.

Yes, I think it’s brome. Try to get it next time before it seeds.
